Welcome to Cardinal Preschool!

Cardinal Preschool is a full-day, four-day-a-week program located within Cardinal Elementary. We proudly serve both 3- and 4-year-old students, with four classrooms dedicated to each age group. Our program is made possible through early education grants, as well as partnerships with Sieda Head Start, Early Childhood Iowa, and the Cardinal Community School District. We take pride in our longstanding collaborations that help us provide high-quality early learning experiences.

We are a kid-friendly program that offers a warm, welcoming environment where children are encouraged to explore, create, and grow. Our classrooms are rich in hands-on lessons and engaging activities designed to spark curiosity and foster a love of learning.

Our dedicated teachers use research-based early childhood curricula while also emphasizing social and emotional development to help children grow into confident, caring learners.

We believe that education is a team effort, and we place a strong focus on family engagement. We love seeing families involved in the learning process and welcome them as active partners in their child’s preschool experience.

Students in both age groups enjoy weekly classes in music, art, and physical education, taught by our certified Cardinal teachers. They also participate in field trips, special guest visits, and school-wide events—making their preschool experience both educational and exciting.

Cardinal Preschool is a free program, and we provide nutritious meals and snacks each day.

Thank you for considering Cardinal Preschool. We’re excited to offer your child—and your family—a joyful, hands-on, and enriching start to their educational journey. This is a healthy and important step toward partnering with families to help children become confident, prepared, and kindergarten-ready!

My real endorsement of Cardinal Schools and its faculty and staff can be seen each morning when I hand them the one irreplaceable and most valuable thing in my life: my kids. No letter I write could be a greater endorsement than that simple act. I give them my kids, and I do it with a huge smile on my face because I trust them to do what they are most outstanding at: building our future.
