posted September 13, 2022

Dana Hendricks is joining the Cardinal team to teach high school special education. We hope you'll welcome her if you see her on campus! We asked her some questions so you could get to know her a bit as the school year begins.

Why did you want to teach at Cardinal?

I heard lots of innovative ideas and positive comments.

How long have you been teaching?
31 years

What do you like about teaching special education?

I like working with young people to accomplish goals and set new ones for their future career choices.

What is your favorite part of being a teacher?

The interaction with your people and seeing their growth.

What is your ultimate goal as a teacher?

I want to pass on to my students that being a lifelong learner is valuable and rewarding.

What do you hope students take away from your class this year?

I want them to learn life lessons of understanding others and the differences we bring to the table.

Fun Facts/Hobbies:

You will often see me walking my dog, Bear, while reading a book. I am a proud mother of two and grandmother of five. I am happiest being outdoors and love all sports. Go, Cardinals!

From our first interaction with the staff at Cardinal schools, we felt at home. The entire staff is amazing and we feel that we have a trusted partner in our children’s education. The greatest testament to their success is that our kids love going to school. There is nothing more welcoming as a parent than to have a school that you trust to take care of the most precious thing in your life. Cardinal School District does just that.
