Jacob Walker joins us this year to teach 9-12 Strat 1 Special Education. We asked him some questions so you could get to know him a bit before the school year begins.

Why did you want to teach at Cardinal?
I miss small-town Iowa. I love southeast Iowa and felt a call to come to Cardinal.

How long have you been teaching?
Two years

What do you like about teaching 9-12 Strat 1 Special Education?
I love being able to work one on one with my students. I love being able to build a close-knit relationship with my students and watch them grow.

What is your favorite part of teaching?
My favorite part of being a teacher is building relationships with students. It warms my heart to be able to grow with the student and watch them grow as well.

What is your ultimate goal as a teacher?
My ultimate goal as a teacher is to see each and every one of my students grow and graduate to go on to bigger and better things.

What do you hope students take away from your class this year?
I hope my students take away from my class that no matter how difficult something may seem, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.
