Danielle Walker is joining the Cardinal team this year to teach high school language arts. If you see her on campus, be sure to say hello! We asked her some questions so you can get to know her a bit before the school year begins.

Why did you want to teach at Cardinal?
We had our first child last November and wanted to be closer to family. We also wanted to be in a small-town community and school.

How long have you been teaching?
Three years

What do you like about teaching language arts?
Everything! I love how there are rarely any wrong answers in language arts class.

What is your favorite part of being a teacher?
Building relationships with students and making my classroom a positive and safe environment for everyone that walks in.

What is your ultimate goal as a teacher?
My goal as a teacher is for every student to leave my classroom with a smile on their face.

What do you hope students take away from your class this year?
I hope my students take away that my classes were fun and enjoyable but that I also had high expectations for them from the very beginning.

Fun Facts/Hobbies:
My family consists of me; my husband, Jacob; our daughter, Madalynn; and our two dogs, Kinnik and Dobby. We enjoy camping, hiking, cooking, and watching the Food Network (specifically Guy’s Grocery Games).

My real endorsement of Cardinal Schools and its faculty and staff can be seen each morning when I hand them the one irreplaceable and most valuable thing in my life: my kids. No letter I write could be a greater endorsement than that simple act. I give them my kids, and I do it with a huge smile on my face because I trust them to do what they are most outstanding at: building our future.
