Cardinal CSD English Teacher, Miss Tolk

posted September 19, 2022

Kelsea Tolk is joining the Cardinal team to teach 9th and 10th grade English. We are so excited to have her teaching our students! We asked her some questions so you could get to know her a bit as the school year begins.

Why did you want to teach at Cardinal?

The atmosphere here is really amazing.

How long have you been teaching?
This will be my 6th year.

What do you like about teaching English?

I like the books that go with these grades. There are some amazing lessons to be learned in these books and the discussion I get to have with kids about them is awesome!

What is your favorite part of being a teacher?

Getting to know the kids and making an impact on them.

What is your ultimate goal as a teacher?

I think one day I would like to be a professor and teach young people how to teach.

What do you hope students take away from your class this year?

I hope that they know they are loved and cared for and that my room was a place where they felt okay to fail and try new things.

Fun Facts/Hobbies:

I love all sports, but volleyball the most. I have 7 siblings and 13 nieces and nephews. I am the first person in my family to move more than 12 miles away.

My real endorsement of Cardinal Schools and its faculty and staff can be seen each morning when I hand them the one irreplaceable and most valuable thing in my life: my kids. No letter I write could be a greater endorsement than that simple act. I give them my kids, and I do it with a huge smile on my face because I trust them to do what they are most outstanding at: building our future.
