We are so glad to have Alisha Evans joining our team this year as the PreK-4 Principal! Ms. Evans has taught for 7 years and has been a principal for 4 years. We asked her some questions so that you can get to know him a bit before the school year begins.
Why did you want to teach at Cardinal?
I was drawn to the Cardinal Community School District in Eldon because of its strong sense of community, commitment to student success, and dedication to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. From the moment I learned about the district, I could see that Cardinal is more than just a school system—it’s a family that values relationships, celebrates achievements, and works together for the good of every student.
What do you like about being a principal?
What I love most about being a principal is the opportunity to support students every single day—helping them grow not just academically, but as confident, kind, and brave individuals. Building strong relationships with students, learning about who they are, and celebrating their successes fuels my passion for this work. I also value working alongside and supporting our incredible staff, fostering a culture where teachers feel empowered to lead, take risks, and continue growing in their craft. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing both students and staff thrive because they feel supported, encouraged, and believed in. My goal is always to create an environment where every person knows they belong and can achieve their very best.
What is your ultimate goal as a principal?
My ultimate goal as a principal is to create a school culture where every student and staff member feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential. I strive to ensure that our building is a place where learning is engaging, relationships are strong, and growth is celebrated. By fostering a safe, inclusive, and collaborative environment, I aim to empower students to become confident, compassionate lifelong learners and to equip staff with the tools, trust, and encouragement they need to be leaders in their classrooms and beyond. Every decision I make is guided by what is best for kids, because their success is the heart of our mission.
