Meet New High School ELA Teacher Mrs. Clark!
posted September 23, 2026
We are so glad to have Carleigh Clark joining our team this year to teach high school ELA! This will be her 8th year of teaching, and we are thrilled to have her on our team! We asked Ms. Jones some questions so that you can get to know her a bit before the school year begins.
Why did you want to teach at Cardinal?
We moved to the area and planned for our son to attend the local school. I am so happy a teaching position opened up so I could join him!
What do you like about teaching English language arts?
I love to read! One of my favorite ways to engage with literature is by analyzing an author's word choice.
What is your favorite part of teaching?
I love learning along with the kids! It is fun to connect through shared interests but I discover so much about new hobbies and activities while getting to know my students.
What is your ultimate goal as a teacher?
My goal is to help students connect to literature they enjoy. If a student says they do not like to read--they simply have not found 'their' book!
What do you hope students take away from your class this year?
I hope students understand the 'power' of yet. They may not know 'it'...yet. They may not be able to complete 'it'...yet. While there is always a goal, the only way through is to join the journey.
Fun Facts/Hobbies:
Fall is a favorite in my house! Pumpkin patches, sweater weather, and so many football games.
