Leah Edel is joining the Cardinal team to teach 5th grade math and science. This is her first year of teaching so be sure to make her feel welcome! We asked her some questions so you could get to know her a bit before the school year begins.

Why did you want to teach at Cardinal?
I wanted to teach at a smaller school where there is a lot of support from everyone and for everyone.

What do you like about the grade/subject you teach?
I am looking forward to teaching 5th grade because at that age students are sponges for new information and love to learn new things! I like math and science because they are universal subjects —  the same no matter where you are!

What is your favorite part of teaching?
Really getting to know my students and making learning fun for them!

What is your ultimate goal as a teacher?
My ultimate goal is to keep my students engaged in their learning by allowing them to have some control.

What do you hope students take away from your class this year?
I hope my students are able to learn information that they will remember and use outside of school.

Fun Facts/Hobbies:
Two fun facts about me: I am left-handed. I have danced for 20 years.

My real endorsement of Cardinal Schools and its faculty and staff can be seen each morning when I hand them the one irreplaceable and most valuable thing in my life: my kids. No letter I write could be a greater endorsement than that simple act. I give them my kids, and I do it with a huge smile on my face because I trust them to do what they are most outstanding at: building our future.
