Meet New 1st Grade Teacher Ms. Breon!

We are so glad to have Eleanor Breon joining our team this year to teach first grade! This will be her second year of teaching, and we are happy it's with us! We asked Ms. Breon some questions so that you can get to know her a bit before the school year begins.

Why did you want to teach at Cardinal?
What made me want to teach at Cardinal was the supportive coworkers and administration, the close-knit community, and the positive learning environment. I really value being part of a team where everyone supports and encourages one another. Cardinal feels like a place where teachers, students, and families work together to create a welcoming and positive school community.

What do you like about teaching first grade?
First grade is filled with so much fun and learning! I love teaching first grade because students grow and learn so much throughout the year. It is so rewarding to watch them gain confidence, become more independent, and make progress academically and socially.

What is your favorite part of teaching?
My favorite part of being a teacher is creating a safe and welcoming space for my students and building meaningful relationships with them. I love getting to know each student and helping them feel valued, supported, and confident in the classroom.

What is your ultimate goal as a teacher?
My ultimate goal is for my students to leave my classroom feeling loved, supported, and confident in themselves as learners. I want to help each student build the skills, confidence, and independence they need to be successful both in and out of the classroom.

What do you hope students take away from your class this year?
I hope my students leave my classroom knowing that they are cared for, valued, and capable of doing hard things.

Fun Fact: I love to wakesurf. My hobbies include: reading, making shirts, walking my 2 dogs, and working out.
