2025 Staff Survey Has Record Participation

posted May 29, 2025
The 2025 staff survey results are in, and we are thrilled to have a record number of participants this year, with 85% of staff taking part (with a 12% increase in the number of employees we have)! This is up from 82% participation last year. Our overall workplace experience score was 83%, aligned with last year's score of 84%.
The annual survey measures how our employees feel about workplace values, employee appreciation and development, productivity and retention, leadership, and other engagement indicators.
This year's survey results indicate that our top three strength areas are:
- Values: Employees feel we operate by strong values.
- Direction: Employees believe Cardinal CSD is going in the right direction.
- Meaningfulness: Employees feel like they are part of something meaningful.
- Meaningfulness was one of our areas of improvement last year, so we're particularly proud of this making our top strengths this year!
"Cardinal staff is supportive and genuinely cares about their employees," one employee shared in the survey. "It is a fun place to work. It is rewarding knowing you are making difference in the students' lives."
Our areas with the largest increases in staff satisfaction compared to last year included:
- Pay
- Work-Life Balance
- Formal Training
It's wonderful to see our strengths each year, but the primary purpose of the survey is to identify where we can improve. This year, the survey results indicated these three areas with the most room for improvement (these areas had 73-79% agreement, while other areas had higher percentages):
- Clued-In Employees: Employees feel well-informed about important decisions.
- Despite this being an area of improvement for us, we were still in the top 25% of other organizations in our benchmark that took part in the survey this year through Energage.
- Growth: Employees believe they have frequent opportunities to learn and grow.
- Meetings: Employees feel that meetings make good use of their time.
We look forward to working towards improvement in these areas and hope, like this year, that next year's survey results show progress! It's important to us that all of our staff members feel well-informed and have the tools they need to grow.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's survey! We're excited to see how we continue to evolve as a district for the better for our staff and, most importantly, our students. Go, Comets!
