Lunch & Breakfast Update for

the 2022-2023 School Year

Please be aware that the federal waiver that provided free lunch and breakfast for all students for the past two years has not been extended for the 2022-2023 school year. Students will be charged for breakfast and lunch when they return to school in August.

All parents will be encouraged to complete a free and reduced application which could qualify you for reduced price or free meals based on income guidelines. This application will be available after August 1. Please watch for additional information on meal prices and an online application in early August.

Courageous by Choice: Cardinal Students Visit Camp Courageous

Just before summer break, several of our students, staff members, and parents attended Camp Courageous. The camp provides recreational opportunities for individuals with special needs of all ages. This was Cardinal's first year attending!

Shooting for the Stars with Cardinal's Reading Programs

Did you know that Cardinal Community School District has reading tutors available for students who are struggling with literacy? Thanks to yearly grants, training through the Reading Corps and funding from United Way of Wapello County, we can offer one-on-one lessons for our students who need extra help.
